Agm and laying up supper’09

Posted in General News - November 04 2009

It’s that time of year again when we review the sailing season just passed and look forward to the 2010 season.

I would like to take this opportunity to notify you of our annual general meeting and also to invite you to attend our laying up supper, both to be held on 29th December in the Harbour View Hotel in Schull.

Please note that the AGM is being held at 2.00 pm with the laying up supper commencing at 8.00 pm.

In relation to the AGM, I would like to draw your attention to the following in advance of the meeting:

• The proposed agenda for the meeting is attached. I would ask that anyone with any proposals to be raised at the meeting would send these in writing to me, to be received no later than 15th December 2009 (ie two weeks in advance of the AGM). In order to ensure the smooth running of the meeting, only proposals submitted in advance will be considered.

• Likewise any nominations for club officers should be made in writing to me before 15th December 2009.

• We have prepared a draft constitution for the club, which we feel, given the growth in numbers in recent years, is necessary going forward. I have attached a copy of this draft document, for members review in advance of the meeting. We would welcome any comments/queries (in writing) in advance of the AGM. when we will be proposing its immediate adoption.

The laying up supper will also be held on the 29th December in the Harbour View Hotel. I would urge all members to attend and hope it will be as successful as last years event, which I am sure you will agree was most enjoyable. I would ask you all to confirm your attendance by 15th December, so that we can finalise numbers for the event.

Tickets are available from Dave O’Reilly, Morgan O’Donovan ,jackie kennefick and Dave Waters from mid-November onwards. Payment in advance would be much appreciated.

I look forward to seeing you all on the 29th December. Until then, I wish all those participating in the winter leagues the best of luck and best wishes for the festive season.

Yours sincerely
