The Harbour Development Plan

Posted in General News - May 13 2010

The Harbour Development Plan that has been worked on for the last number of years is now ready to come on stream and - with your support - will begin later this year for completion in 2011.
The downturn in the economy now means that the breakwater can be built for a more realistic price, however the downturn also means that any possible grants have also dried up. Despite this, if there is a strong enough demand for long term berths on the new marina, the project is still viable and construction will commence later this year.

Over 120 people have already registered their interest in leasing berths and we would request anyone who is interested in leasing a berth to click on this link http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RSNLYDB and register their interest.
Further it would be very helpful if you could spread the word to other boat owners in Schull who may not be a member of any club - including RIB owners as there will be a seperate “dry dock” section for RIBS planned for the new marina.
Many thanks,
George Dwyer
SHSC member of the Harbour Development Committee
